The analogue switch-off is a hard deadline

Traditional analogue phone lines are being withdrawn across the UK. Anything relying on them — phone systems, alarms, lift lines, some card terminals — needs migrating to an IP alternative.

What a good system includes

Compare on features, not just per-seat price.

  • Number porting so you keep your existing number
  • Auto-attendant, hunt groups and out-of-hours routing
  • Mobile app so staff can take office calls anywhere
  • Call recording where your sector requires it

Your broadband has to support it

Each concurrent call needs roughly 100kbps in each direction with low jitter. Upload capacity, not download, is the usual constraint — another reason to check the upstream speed before signing a phone contract.
