Connectivity Planning for a New Business Premises

Cabling, comms cabinet, WiFi coverage and circuit ordering — get these right at fit-out and never think about them again.

Cable during the fit-out

Running Cat6 while walls are open costs a fraction of retrofitting later. Put data points everywhere you might conceivably need one — tills, card terminals, printers, access points and desks.

Plan WiFi coverage properly

One access point in a corner will not cover a shop floor. Ceiling-mounted access points, wired back to the cabinet, deliver a fraction of the support calls that mesh extenders generate.

Order the circuit first

Connectivity is the longest lead item in most fit-outs. Place the order as soon as you have a confirmed address and lease date, even if the completion date moves.
