Guest demand is the biggest variable
A busy hotel or pub can have hundreds of devices connected simultaneously. Size for concurrent devices rather than guest numbers, and separate the guest network so it cannot starve operational systems.
Protect the operational traffic
Card terminals, the booking system, the till and the phone system should sit on a prioritised network with guaranteed bandwidth. Never let a Saturday-night guest network take payments offline.
Streaming sport needs headroom
Live sport is bandwidth-hungry and unforgiving of buffering. If matchday is core to your trade, size the line for the match plus the full guest load, not for the average Tuesday.
