Broadband Failover: Keeping Trading When the Line Drops

4G/5G backup, dual-circuit routing and automatic failover — practical resilience for businesses that cannot afford downtime.

4G/5G backup is the cheapest insurance available

A router with a backup SIM switches over automatically within seconds of the fixed line failing. It costs a few pounds a month standing by and keeps card terminals, tills and phones live through most outages.

Diverse circuits for critical sites

Two lines from different providers only help if they do not share the same physical route into the building. Ask specifically for diverse entry and separate exchange paths, or you are paying twice for one point of failure.

Test the failover

Unplug the primary line during a quiet period and confirm every critical system reconnects. Untested failover is a belief, not a plan — and it usually fails on some device nobody remembered to configure.
