Negotiating a Business Broadband Contract

Install fees, term length, price reviews and exit clauses — where the real negotiation happens on a connectivity deal.

Term length is your main lever

Providers discount heavily for 36-month commitments, but that only helps if your premises and requirements are stable. A 24-month term with a break clause often prices close to 36 months if you ask.

Watch mid-contract price rises

Many contracts include an annual increase tied to inflation plus a percentage. Ask for the increase to be capped or removed, and get the answer in the contract rather than in an email.

Get install costs waived

Connection and equipment charges are frequently waived on longer terms. If a provider will not move on the monthly rate, move them on the upfront cost instead.
