Installing EV Charging at Business Premises

Capacity, tariffs, staff use and revenue models — what to plan before installing chargers at your site.

Check your supply capacity first

Several fast chargers can exceed the spare capacity in your existing connection. Establish your agreed supply capacity and actual peak demand before specifying hardware — an upgrade is the expensive part.

Load management beats upgrading

Smart charging that spreads demand across the day or throttles when the building peaks often removes the need for a costly supply upgrade entirely.

Decide the commercial model early

Free staff charging, paid public access and customer-only charging have different metering, billing and tax implications. Decide before installation, because retrofitting a payment system is harder than including it.
